My name is Marco Cuyar (pronounced coo-yar). I have been in practice in a variety of mental health setting since 1999; in private practice in the Phoenix metro area since 2004. I have a no-nonsense approach to counseling/psychotherapy. I encourage by clients to take the time to examine and challenge what is and isn't working in their lives. Clients are able to choose to make positive, happer and healthier changes in their lives.
I practice evidence-based Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I do believe that therapy should be tailored to the client needs. I have a strength based perspective, which is the belief that each of us has a unique strength, ability, and resource to allow positive change to take place in our lives. Sometimes we just need a little guidance, a fresh persepective, and given the opportunity to learn healthy skills to make positive changes in our lives.
