Hello, My name is Sheila L. Cook and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. I enjoy working with clients that struggle with day to day life and need guidance on how best to cope with the challenges life throws at them. I find that I am most successful working with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Parenting Challenges, Adolescent and Children, as well as older adults. I have a broad array of experience working with individuals from as young as toddlers all the way up into the 100's. My strategy is very collaborative and I believe in working with the individual and not for the individual.
Are you dealing with sadness, anxiety, or having a difficult time balancing the demands of relationships, work, friendships, parenting, or life in general? I am eager to help you develop more effective ways of managing complex situations and challenges that may occur in life. Struggling with a mental health illness should not be seen as a normal part of life. You do not need to feel alone in your journey. Allow me to be there with you for the support, guidance, and encouragement that you deserve.
A quote by Maya Angelo best describes my practice: “We cannot change the past, but we can change our attitude toward it. Uproot guilt and plant forgiveness. Tear out arrogance and seed humility. Exchange love for hate—thereby, making the present comfortable and the future promising”–Maya Angelo
