Hello, my name is Marie White. I am a Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor. For the past 15 years, I have worked as a School Counselor, assisting students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 7th Grade and their families. I have worked with students and families on a wide array of issues, including anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences and abuse, self-esteem, relationship issues, self-harming behaviors, anger management, stress, family conflicts, coping with grief and loss, and crisis intervention.
I believe everyone could benefit from having a safe place to discuss their thoughts and feelings, and work to provide that safe environment to anyone in need. I primarily utilize Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Intervention Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Person-Centered Therapy. My background prior to entering the counseling profession was as a Case Manager for the Department of Family and Children Services in Georgia. In that role, I saw the overwhelming need for children and families to receive the support and education therapy can provide. As a School Counselor for the past 15 years, I have seen an ever increasing need for those same supports to be put in place for children and families as they struggle to cope with the daily pressures and influences that are part of today's society. I welcome the opportunity to assist you in addressing the struggles and challenges that you are facing.
