Take Advantage of Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) CPT Codes with CarePaths Measurement-Based Care by Bruce Wampold PhD

This year, the American Medical Association added a number of new CPT® codes to its catalog that will allow mental health providers practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to bill their patients’ insurance for Remote Therapeutic Monitoring services. These additions are expanding upon the existing set of RTM codes which focus on specific aspects of physical health. CarePaths users whose clients are receiving CBT and completing assessments in the CarePaths Connect mobile app for patients can now bill for time spent training their clients on using the app (CPT code 98975) as well as time spent completing and discussing the assessments (98980 for the first 20 minutes and 98981 for each additional 20 minutes during a month). To make it even easier, CarePaths’ Automated Measurement-Based Care by Bruce Wampold, PhD provides your patients with a set of assessments expertly chosen by one of the world’s leading psychotherapy researchers to capture all the most important therapy metrics, including symptom severity and the therapeutic alliance. Patients are automatically notified to complete these assessments on a weekly basis, allowing their providers to bill using code 98978 once per 30-day period as well. By using all of these new codes, therapists can receive up to $100 more per patient per month for CBT from many payers. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to activate CarePaths Connect for free to access these transformative tools, which can improve client outcomes and reduce dropout rates no matter what kind of therapy you provide. And feel free to sign up for a live training session if you want help setting up CarePaths Connect, using MBC, or taking advantage of the new codes.
